The Tanana valley and the Fairbanks area in particular has some of the best house logs in the state. We have been dealing with several loggers for a long time and we think we get the best wood available. The trees are white spruce with an average midspan diameter of 12 to 14 inches, butt diameter of 16 to 18 inches and top diameter of 10 to 12 inches. These are slow growing tight grained trees and they make perfect house logs for the harsh climate of Fairbanks, Alaska. All logs are hand picked to meet the needs of each building. The loggers take special care when harvesting house logs to minimize damage to the wood.
